Our second film for the Channel4 Random Acts strand, in association with Other Roads Films, is a celebration of our relationship with Cardiff-based, NoFit State Circus.

It has been two years since contacting Nofit State, after seeing their show ‘Taboo’. We loved their style and wanted to work with them to produce promotional films for their shows. Since then it has been a growing relationship that continues to grow from strength to strength.

The concept for the Random Act was simple, to take three iconic performers out of the Big Top setting, and confine them to a single space, where they were able to showcase their talents in isolation. This film specifically explores movement and expression, up close and personal. Both intense and elegant, the intention is to provide a unique opportunity to see the performers vulnerabilities.

Chris relished the chance to work with the Nofit team away from their usual  setting:

“It has been a fantastic opportunity to work closely as a Director with performers I have admired over the years. Needless to say, all the team worked so hard in an incredibly short space of time, and we feel the results speak for themselves”

So we offer a special thanks to the fabulous performers Sage, Hugo and Blaze!

Here is an exclusive making of, with not many teasers/spoilers!

A huge thanks go to Peter Swaffler and Gareth Jones (aka FIREPROOF GIANT), for allowing us to use their original music compositions in an experimental arrangement. Also to Emma Humby for her patience and skills on several post production shots that did not make it into the final cut (except the ball one!). The guys at Murdered by Motion for producing our ‘Making Of’ video, and last but not least, the Exec. Producers Clive Flowers and Steve Thomas from Other Roads Films.
